The PRGN 2024 Spring Conference in Hong Kong on 23-24 May was a success. This event featured an open session of the member conference, and attendees from across the globe were invited to join or follow online.

This hybrid conference included a panel session on the media and social media landscape of main Asian markets – most notably China, South Korea and Japan – and the lessons learned for global brands approaching these vast and lucrative markets. Another session delved into the latest trends and new approaches to issues and crisis management in a more and more complex world, drawing speakers from Asian and U.S. markets.

Panel 1. Navigating APAC’s Diverse Media and Social Media Landscape

Michael Webster, Executive Chairman of Telum Media, joined PRGN members from China, Korea and Japan for a 90-minute session to delve into the intricacies of APAC’s media landscape, examining the latest trends, social media platforms, technologies, and consumer behaviors that shape how information is distributed and consumed.

Andy See, PRGN President and Founder, Principal Partner and Managing Director of Perspective Strategies, PRGN’s agency member in Malaysia, moderated the discussion.

Panel 2. Crisis and Issue Management in a Transformed World

In a transformed world marked by rapid change and unforeseen challenges, the ability to navigate crises effectively has become paramount. Speakers of this panel delved deep into the critical aspects of leadership during times of crisis and how different regions approach these challenges while staying true to their cultural identities. Recognizing crisis management is not one-size-fits-all, we also analyzed how regions around the world harness their cultural strengths and traditions to tackle crises unique to their context.
